Introducing the exclusive Pacific Green Beret 6.5-Inch Serrated Military Knife (Premium Edition), a standout in the realm of tactical blades. This high-end model is a cut above the market's imitations. Originally launched in 2002 by Chris Reeve Knives and designed by Bill Harsey, the 'Green Beret' knife now features a full tang with threaded handle scales, a departure from the original solid steel handle design.
This knife honors Navy SEAL Neil Roberts, the first Special Forces soldier to fall in Afghanistan during the Battle of Takur Ghar in March 2002. The U.S. Army Special Forces, known as the Green Berets, consist of diverse units with regional expertise. Members undergo rigorous training and are assigned to operational teams based on their unique skills and language proficiency.
Stationed across the Pacific, from Korea to Indonesia, the Special Forces Airborne Division required a dependable knife for jungle, mountain, and underwater missions. A commander and sergeant major from the division tasked me with designing such a knife. I embraced the challenge and was invited to the SFGA headquarters to discuss technical and operational details with commanders and selected Green Beret soldiers.
After a day of discussions, I translated their needs into a practical design. Chris and I developed several prototypes, and this knife, derived from Prototype No. 1, was ultimately approved by the Special Forces Airborne. Thus, the Pacific Fixed Blade was born. Chris ensured the highest production standards, with no blade failures reported to date.
